This guide gets you from "interesting Discord server" to "I know exactly where I belong here" — fast.

The most important step here is a human hello. Post one in the #introductions channel on our Discord (discord.gg/MRESQnf4R4) — a human will answer. That's not a formality; it's how this community works. Guides and agents come second; people come first. (That principle is Estela's, and the community lives by it.) And do it when you're ready — for some that's hour one, for some it's week three after quietly watching a few calls. Both are on time.

What is this?

Augmentatism is a movement with a manifesto (augmentatism.com) built on one idea: corporate AI offers a false choice between surrendering your mind to it or rejecting it entirely. We take the third way — building our own sovereign AI "worlds," together forming a Multiverse of the Many instead of the monoculture of the One.

Around the philosophy, we're building real things:

• ResonantOS — a browser-first operating layer for working with AI in resonance: one trusted interface (the Augmentor) that helps you think, remember, and coordinate specialist agents — without losing sovereignty or craft. Open source: github.com/ResonantOS
• ResonantDAO — the membership and governance layer. Not a subscription: members co-own what's built. Voting power follows contribution and time, not wallet size.

The honest part

We are early. Things are missing, some things are broken, and the map is being drawn while we walk it. Manolo says it himself: this is not a place for comfort — it's for pioneers who are fine with uncertainty. If something doesn't exist yet, that's not a gap in the storefront. That's your invitation to build it.

One rule

You are sovereign. Nobody prescribes what you build — and you never capture anyone else's sovereignty. That's the Law of Anti-Capture, and it's the ethical floor for everything here, including the AI tools we ship.

What's pulling you? (start here)

The track below is how you work. Your why matters more — and it's yours; nobody assigns it. Most people arrive pulled by one of four things, and each has a natural first home:

• A project you're carrying (even just an idea) → the Project Registry and the Sunday Co-op call
• Plain curiosity ("I saw a video and want to understand this") → Resonant Academy and Augmented Minds
• The philosophy (sovereignty, the third way) → the manifesto, then the Thinker track
• The people (you want to build with someone) → the daily onboarding call and the round table

Take a second and name yours. A named why is an anchor — it's the difference between "interesting server" and "my community."

Which one are you?

Yes, the first steps have friction. That's deliberate. Friction is a feature — the gap between impulse and execution is where your craft lives. We lower confusion, not effort.

The track is how you work. It is not a label, and it is not a rank. Labels are a different thing: they describe where you are on the journey, and they are derived from the Project Registry and your own stated intent, never picked in a form. See Tiers and Labels for the whole system. Short version: this is a community of learning, and watching is the first step of building, not its opposite. The audience is complete and valid where it is. The people between "watching" and "building" are the community's focus — if your idea is blocked by a specific friction (no time, no first step, no teammates, no idea what to build, fear of showing unfinished work), say so in your introduction, and the reply you get is one next action, not a syllabus.

Not everyone is made for the stage — good.

Think of a concert. There's the band — and there's the crew that builds the stage, the sound tech at the mixing desk, the light design, the manager, and the crowd whose listening makes the whole thing worth doing. Every one of those is a real role here, and the stage is only one of them. If pitching yourself on a Sunday call sounds like your nightmare: skip it. Test someone's tool. Fix a wrong meeting time in this very document. Answer a question in a channel. The community runs on its crew at least as much as on its band — and the mixing desk has the best view anyway.

Watching is contribution. So is arriving slowly.

The philosophy, one layer deeper

The Augmentatism Manifesto is the shared foundation everyone here signs up to. Its core practice is World Building: treating a generative AI not as a brain but as a field of possibility, and consciously architecting your own aligned world within it — custom AIs, prompt architectures, instructional layers. An AI Artisan is defined by vision, not code — artists, writers, philosophers and scientists are explicitly included. That's why the Thinker track isn't a consolation prize; it's canonical.

The Social Contract in the manifesto gives us our shared vocabulary: Sovereign Purpose (no dogma, including our own), Anti-Capture (the one hard rule), Creative Latency (friction is where identity forms), cultivation over optimization (gardener, not machinist), and discovery over acceleration ("what can your AI do that mine can't?" — not "who has the best AI?").

One distinction worth knowing early: Cosmodestiny is Manolo's personal philosophy — resonance, frequency, intentional gathering. It's referenced in talks and worth reading, but it's not required doctrine. The practical translation is simple and universally useful here: frequency = behavior. Showing up is the frequency. Mistakes are feedback, not errors.

There's a story we love here: a member arrived with nothing but an idea. Within minutes, people were helping. Nobody asked for credentials. That's the round table — horizontal, no judgment, everyone has something worth sharing. (The round-table format is Estela's.)

Now the part most guides won't tell you: the person who answers your first hello was a newcomer once — and soon, that someone is you. Answering the next hello is a contribution, one of the first ones available to you, and the one that grows this place fastest. Nobody appoints role models here; people just notice who showed up for them. That's how it starts.

And the Multiverse only works if the Many are actually many. Every background, every field, every level belongs here — the questionnaire says gardening counts, and it means it. A community of people who all think alike is just the One with extra steps.

What "contribution" means here

More than you think. Learning is contribution. Watching calls is contribution. Using someone's tool and telling them what broke is contribution. On the Evolution of an AI Artisan ladder — seven levels from Curious Beginner to Ultra AI Artisan — every level counts, including the quiet ones.

There are two axes, and they run separately. Participation — learning, watching, testing, feedback — is open to everyone, has no gate, and is what this paragraph describes. Building — finished work with real people on the other side — is a separate, observable record, and it is how the community selects its cores and credits its contribution. Both belong here. The audience is the market, not a holding pen; the builders are selected by what they shipped, not by who talks most.

And the axes are connected by a journey. Part of the DAO mission is to turn people from passive to active, from consumers to producers. Watching is step one of that journey: the moment you learn, some of what you learned turns into action. A meaningful percentage of the people watching could build if the friction were removed — so the friction gets removed. The rules of the building axis are written down in Tiers and Labels, and the evidence lives in the Project Registry.

When you're ready for more, work happens in small self-organizing teams (2–5 people) around bounties with clear scope and reward. Small beats big. Choice beats assignment. Contribution beats attendance.

Who's who (and who isn't "the boss")

Manolo Remiddi wrote the manifesto and is the community's first member and custodian — "I show how it's done, I don't tell you how." He'll be the first to say he's not the leader, and some people will treat him as one anyway; the community holds that paradox openly. For everyone else — moderation, ResonantOS dev, video/content, governance, hardware — the 🏝️ Who-Does-What Map shows the islands and who tends them. Some islands list a function and a channel instead of a name; that's by design and by consent.

The tools, honestly

ResonantOS is in active local preview — browser-first by design, macOS-first for now, with the Augmentor at the center and specialist agents like Hermes and OpenCode plugging in. The Living Archive (memory) shipped its V1; agent delegation is in progress. It's real, it's usable, and it's unfinished. The whitepaper and Symbiotic Licence explain the philosophy in the architecture; resonantdao.com is the source of truth for the DAO design (credentials, membership, governance). 🤖 Spawn your Onboarding Agent (2 minutes)

The Onboarding Agent is an AI guide that knows this community — meetings, islands, first steps. It lives in a file. You give that file to an AI chat, and the AI becomes your guide. You never need to open or read the file — it's the agent's brain, not yours. Pick your door:

🚪 Door 1 — No account, no login, nothing to install (~30 seconds)

1. Download onboarding-agent-LITE.md.
2. Go to duck.ai — DuckDuckGo's anonymous AI chat. No sign-up, no tracking, your chats aren't tied to you. (Yes, we picked it on purpose — anonymous fits our Law of Anti-Capture.)
3. Open the file, select all, copy, and paste the whole thing into the chat — then add this sentence at the very end and send: "Please act as the guide described above and greet me."
4. That's it — the agent introduces itself and shows you around. (If the AI declines or only summarizes: switch to another model — duck.ai has a model picker at the top — or take another door.)

The Lite agent knows the essentials and is honest about the rest — for details it points you to these guides and the Discord, which is exactly where you're headed anyway.

🚪 Door 2 — The full agent (free account needed)

The Full file carries all five onboarding documents inside it — every meeting time, every island, every project. It's too big for anonymous services, so this door costs a free account.

1. Download onboarding-agent-FULL.md.
2. Open kimi.com, chatgpt.com, claude.ai, or gemini.google.com — free tiers all take file uploads.
3. Attach the file with the paperclip/upload button — or paste its contents — and send this sentence with it: "Please act as the guide described in this file and greet me."

🚪 Door 3 — Your own local AI (the most sovereign path)

This is where the community will take you anyway, so feel free to start here:

• Big local model → use onboarding-agent-FULL.md
• Small local model (~7–9B, 8 GB VRAM class) → use onboarding-agent-LITE.md
• Load the file as the system prompt (then just say hi), or paste its contents as your first message followed by: "Please act as the guide described above and greet me."

Whichever door: let it hand you over

The agent's job is to make itself unnecessary. It will end by pointing you to a human hello in #introductions and to your first meeting. When it does — go. The humans are the point.

One honest note: the agent's knowledge is a snapshot. For anything time-based, the live Discord event always wins — the agent will tell you that itself.

Three things, in order:

1. Say hi. #introductions. A real human will greet you — probably today.
2. Show up once. Pick one call from the Meeting Map and just be there. Camera optional, curiosity mandatory.
3. Start. A PR, a README, a question, a 90-second pitch on Sunday. In Manolo's words: you don't need permission to build — you just need to start.
